Meet Our 2017 Summer Staff
Shwayder Camp has some of the most dedicated, caring and fun staff around. We are excited that they will be spending their summer with us at 10,200 ft. ready to help create an amazing experience for your campers.
Denver, COHi, I’m currently the Director of Shwayder Camp, owned by Temple Emanuel in Denver, CO. I grew up in St. Louis, where I developed a passion for Jewish youth education through my involvement in youth group and synagogue life. While pursuing a degree in Business Administration at Kent State University, I began my tenure at Shwayder camp as a counselor, then kitchen manager, unit head and eventually assistant director. As director, I have brought a passion for Jewish education and identity as I work to develop confident and value-driven campers. I am passionate about blending Reform Jewish values that are ingrained in everyday life at camp back into daily life outside of Shwayder and creating a community that is based on respect and pride. See you soon!
Hey Shwayder family! I am thrilled to be coming back to camp this summer for my fourteenth year in the Shwayder community and my first year as the Assistant Director! In May, I will be graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in Elementary Education, and endorsements in Special Education and Teaching English to Students of Other Languages. After graduation, I will be leaving Lawrence, Kansas and making my way to Denver to start my year-round role with Shwayder. I have been a camper, counselor, lead counselor, and unit head at Shwayder, and I am a true believer in the life-long impact we make on Jewish youth and young adults. It is a dream come true for me to begin this long-term commitment to our community as a young, Jewish professional. I cannot wait for the camp season to start! See you all soon!

Hi Ya’ll, I am so excited to be your Nurse at Shwayder Camp. I am the Director of Health Services at our local School District. Yes, I am on the Sunlight Ski Patrol too. No, I don’t pull toboggans. I do love being your camp nurse. I look forward to seeing everyone and meeting all of you who are coming to experience Shwayder Magic for the first time.
What’s good! I cannot wait for this summer. It’s going to be one to remember! I’m sure you’re all as excited as I am to get up to our home in the mountains, whether it’s your first summer or 11th summer like me. I’m spending my days in the state of Washington being a student among other things. I go to the University of Puget Sound where I learn, play for the tennis team, and lead outdoor trips. I’m a huge fan of music, menucha (rest hour), and making memories. At camp, I spend as much time as possible getting shots up on the basketball court, so I’ll see you out there. I hope that you love Shwayder as much as I do! Mahalo!

If you’re lucky, I’ll teach you to make some pretty sweet friendship bracelets! As many of you know, I love to dance and sing, so I am super excited to see which Jewish rockstars make an appearance at camp this year. Whether you’re a first-year Aleph or last-year Daled, I know you will make memories that will last forever. See y’all this summer! Can’t wait!!

We’re going to make the best music Shwayder Camp has ever heard, so grab your instruments and I’ll see you at song-session!
