Medication

Colorado law requires ALL prescription and over the counter medications and products to be stored in our Health Center. Colorado law also requires that ALL medications, including OVER THE COUNTER MEDICATIONS, be documented in a signed order from your camper’s health care provider before they can be administered.

Over-the-counter medications and products stocked in our health center include:

  • Acetaminophen (Tylenol)

  • Bacitracin

  • Benadryl

  • Bug Spray

  • Cetirizine (Zyrtec)

  • Claritin

  • Flonase

  • Hydrocortisone

  • Ibuprofen (Advil)

  • Nasal saline rinse

  • Saline eye drops

  • Simethicone (Gas X)

  • Sunblock

  • Tums

  • Vaseline

Medical Forms

Caregivers must complete the following medical forms for campers by April 1st in order for campers to attend camp. Forms must be accessed via CampInTouch and must be uploaded via CampInTouch when complete.

Health History - Each camper must have a current Health History Form filled out by their camper’s health care provider.

Immunization Record - Each camper must have a current immunization record on file. This can be obtained from your camper’s health care provider. Please review the Shwayder Camp Immunization Policy.

Medication Administration for Camp - Colorado law requires that ALL medications, including OVER THE COUNTER MEDICATIONS, be documented in a signed order from your camper’s health care provider.

Allergy and Anaphylaxis - Colorado Law requires camps to have a signed Allergy and Anaphylaxis Care Plan for campers with mild to severe allergies who require epinephrine and antihistamines at camp.

Asthma Care Plan - Colorado law requires that campers with asthma or those requiring inhalers at camp have an Asthma Care plan signed by the camper’s health care provider.

Self-Carry- Inhaler Form - Complete this form if you would like your camper carry their own inhaler.

Headache Action Plan - Complete this form with your camper’s health care provider.

Seizure Emergency Care Plan - Complete this form with your camper’s health care provider.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • During check-in, our medical staff will collect your child’s medication. It will be administered to each camper personally by our medical staff at the appropriate time of day.

  • If your camper is ill or injured, the Camp Nurse will assess the situation. Families will get a phone call if your child leaves camp for a medical reason or if they are staying overnight in the Health Center. Other health-related communication will be done via email or phone.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties
